There is Never a Wrong Time to Make the Right Decision

Which way from here? How about the right way?

I was having a conversation recently with an online marketing exec at HSN and we were talking through a difficult situation. It involved choosing between two options to address a rather sensitive issue. One was pretty easy, but definitely wrong. The other? Far more complicated, but hands down right. Vague, I know. Intentional. This is the sort of thing that we all deal with. In our personal and professional lives. The details of my specific situation are not important to the point.

The point is…we are all constantly faced with choices, options, decisions. Different paths to evaluate, different destinations to consider. Sometimes those decisions are difficult. Sometimes those decisions don’t have easy answers all wrapped up and delivered to our doorsteps like little gifts.

What became abundantly clear to me at that moment (although, I think this is something I’ve always believed – thanks, mom!) was the following quote that I added to Bryon Beck’s Top 11 list of quotes that reflect bryonness:

There is never a wrong time to make the right decision.

- Bryon Sheffield, 2010

It may not always turn out to be the easiest route, but making the right decision is…well…right.

Chew on this bite-sized chunk of wisdom for a minute, swallow and then wash it down with a little sip of introspection. I’m interested to hear how that tastes. Let me know what you are thinking.

  • Do you agree?
  • What examples do you have where this just doesn’t work?

    here here!
i would only add that its also never a wrong time to change your mind to the right decision. knowing that it is 'right' can be the hardest part. my only advice: let your heart do the thinking.

ps: dude you so need a better header ;) i voted for a real photo!

Amen to that, Sarah. On both counts.
